Level 1 Registered Coach - Qualified since June 2012, Tom also supports the Surrey Youth Games each year, helping to coach the team that represent Surrey Heath at the Surrey Sports Park event.
COACHES
All our our coaches have up to date DBS verification and update their Safeguarding and First Aid qualifications in line with Badminton England coaching requirements. They keep themselves up to date with current coaching ideas and aim to attend workshops and courses during the year.
David Noble - Head Coach
UKCC Level 2 Registered Coach – David has been a Level 2 coach since June 2005 (qualified coach since 1989) and has run Lightwater Junior Badminton Club for over 30 years, along with his wife, Pat, and John and Lesley Williams. He has regularly attended various coaching updates, first aid, safeguarding and development courses.
David and Pat have both been awarded the English Badminton Award by Badminton England, in recognition of their many years of dedication to the sport and development of the junior scene.
John Williams - Chairman, Assistant Head Coach and Child Welfare Officer
UKCC Level 2 Registered Coach - John has been a Level 2 coach since June 2005 (qualified coach since 1989) and has run Lightwater Junior Badminton Club for over 30 years, along with his wife, Lesley, and Dave and Pat Noble. Janette Godfrey
UKCC Level 2 Registered Coach – Qualified since December 2016 and has completed (and renewed every 3 years) a UKCC Safeguarding and First Aid in Sport course. Janette has played badminton since she was 8 and currently plays in the Surrey League and Aldershot & Camberley District Badminton League.
Janette has also supported the Surrey Youth Games in previous years, helping to coach the team that represent Surrey Heath at the Surrey Sports Park event.
Gillian Thomas
UKCC Level 2 Registered Coach – Qualified since December 2016 and has recently completed a UKCC Safeguarding course. Gill has also supported the Surrey Youth Games in previous years, helping to coach the team that represent Surrey Heath at the Surrey Sports Park event.

Tom is currently taking his Level 2 qualification and will complete the course and be signed off by December 23.
Rob Eames
UKCC Level 1 Registered Coach - Qualified in November 17. Rob is aiming for his Level 2 coaching qualification during the 2021-22 season.. Rob has worked in the training industry for 19 years and has coached motorcycling to IAM Advanced Level for 6 years. Rob has played badminton since he was 12 and currently plays in the Slough and Reading leagues in the senior mens and mixed divisions.
Rob is currently taking his Level 2 qualification and will complete the course and be signed off by December 23.

UKCC Level 1 Registered Coach - Qualified in September 18.
