Former LJBC Member Selected to Represent Surrey in U18 Yorkshire Invitation Tournament

Huge contratuations to Aditya Shobin, one of LJBC's former members, has been selected to represent Surrey in a residential Invitation Tournament, sanctioned by Badminton England, to be held between 12th-14th January.2024.

An excerpt from a letter to Aditya's school from Natalie Pipe, Surrey County U18/19 Squad Coach, outlines a little more about Aditya's achievement.....

'...only the eight top county teams in the UK are invited to take part, reflecting the badminton status of Surrey. It is also particularly significant because it is the precursor to the Inter Counties Tournament which is the largest and most prestigious Schools tournament played later in the year. Here, some 30 counties, together with teams from Ireland and Scotland, send their best teams to compete at Nottingham University. This Yorkshire tournament helps to determine the seeding in the ICT and so of course Surrey would like to send their strongest team.'

'Clearly selection for both of these tournaments is very completitive and Aditya's nomination highlights both his skill as a player and his value as a team member.'
